Our article “A Review and Typology of Circular Economy Business Model Patterns” (2019, together with Stefan Gold and Nancy Bocken) is part of a special feature of the Journal of Industrial Ecology on “Digging Deeper into the Circular Economy”

Lüdeke-Freund, F.; Gold, S. & Bocken, N. (2019): A Review and Typology of Circular Economy Business Model Patterns, Journal of Industrial Ecology, Vol. 23, No. 1, 36-61. DOI | ResearchGate

The article presents a comprehensive overview of 26 circular economy business model patterns identified in the literature. In addition, these patterns were summarised in a ‘morphological box’ that provides a handy and useful overview of the various design options available to circular economy business designers.

A summary for practitioners – arguing that this morphological box can be turned into a ‘magical design box’ – has been published in the UK edition of ‘The Conversation’.
